This flash project focuses around the question of coffee shop popularity. With the question “Why do you think coffee shops have grown to the popularity they have today?”
I managed to get a variety of responses from people that have had varying experiences with drinking coffee.
I designed my interface to draw reference to a coffee shop. I choose greens and browns because it references the color of coffee and the color of some of the popular coffee franchises. I designed my forward and next buttons like picture frames to reference the fact that most coffee shops have different art along their walls.
Overall, I felt that my composition was very appeasing to the eye. There was a good sense of balance; I think that the coffee cup offsets the boxes nicely. Everything was also in good proportion to everything else; the coffee cup draws your attention to it with the Play/Pause button that is slightly darker than any other green on the stage. It makes you want to press it. There is also a good sense of unity. The colors all work well together, and with the strict brown/green color pallet, it makes the whole composition feel like an actual space. Also, I think that the font I choose for the project was a good choice. It had a lighter, fun feel but is still professional and easy to read.
All in all, I think my project acomplishes the assignment that was asked of me in a very appropriate and interesting manner.
