My flash project is used to show “wisdom” when it comes to sewing and sewing machines. I designed my flash interface so that it looked like a view into a sewing workroom. I included many things that are actually found there such as a sewing machine, scissors, tomato pincushion and a dress form. I felt that most of those objects were commonly associated with sewing and would give the user and idea of the content before actually reading the information.
I felt that my composition was very appeasing to the eye. There was a good sense of balance, as nothing in the composition seemed to be floating; everything was in a realistic space. Everything was also in good proportion to everything else. Nothing seemed to be too large that it stuck out as odd, but nothing was too small that it was hard to tell what it was. Also I felt like the tape measure around the edge of the screen as well as the beads hanging on the wall provided good rhythm and moved the eye around properly. I also choose a blue, purple, and pink color scheme to unite the whole composition. I felt that these colors were a cool palate that gave it a modern look. Finally, I felt that the emphasis was in the proper place. I felt that because the tape measure that surrounds the text was lighter than most things in the background, it drew proper attention to it.
Overall, I felt like my project was well presented in a well-organized and professional matter.
